Lahaul is marked by a central mass of uniformly high mountains and massive glaciers. Lahaul is a land of fascinating Buddhist art and culture. The monasteries of Lahaul-Spiti are rich repositories of ancient murals, thankas, wood carving and golden images of Padmasambhava. Spiti (50Km fro Lahaul) is called "Little Tibet" because it has almost the same terrain, vegetation & climate . It lies between Tibet, Ladakh, Kinnaur, Lahaul & Kulu.
MANALI -ROHTANG
Rotang (50Km/3Hrs from Manali )
Rotang pass at an altitude of 13000feet is a host for some exhilarating adventures like skiing, snow biking, paragliding...Rotang is open from Mid May till October. Tip:Rent warm clothing and if Rothang is closed we can have these activities at Gulaba or Solang.
MANIKARAN
Manikaran (40km/2Hrs from Kullu and 80Km/3Hrs from Manali)
Manikaran is famous for its hot springs and people take a holy dip here. According to an old legend, Manikaran is connected with Lord Shiva and his divine consort, Parvati. Also visit Ramchandra and Shivaji temples besides the famous Gurudwara .
KULLU
The most charming and beautiful Kullu valley spreads out its charm on either side of river Beas.The valley is also famous for its exquisitely woven colourful hand made shawls and kullu caps.Visit Vaishnav Mata Mandir on the way to Manali.
KHAJJIAR
Khajjiar (23 Km from Dalhousie) is often referred to as "Gulmarg of Himachal Pradesh". The lush green meadows are surrounded by thick pine and cedar forests. Grazing herds of sheep, goats and other milch cattle present a prefect pastoral scenery. There is a small lake in the center of the saucer shaped meadow which has in it a floating island.
Visit the temple of Khajji Nag and Durga temple Near by.
Chail
Chail is a beautiful hill station located 43 km from Shimla in the Shivalik region of Himachal Pradesh. Chail has a dense cover of pine and deodar trees. Its lush green outfields, stunning view of the mountains and captivating natural beauty makes it a fine place to visit. Lots of trekking trails lead from Chail to Shimla, Choor Peak, Kali Temple and other places. Angling is a popular activity undertaken in Giri River, a few kilometers away from Chail.
